Infant Mental Health Awareness Week Event 2027

The Speaking for the Baby Conference celebrates 10 years of the Speaking for the Baby campaign and will be held during 2027 Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, an international event focused on the social and emotional development of infants.

The Speaking for the Baby campaign, originated by Dr Bronwyn Leigh, is a novel approach to infant mental health advocacy and intervention. Using a collection of illustrations and handouts, the campaign gives voice to the experiences of pre-verbal infants. Influenced by Selma Fraiberg’s psychoanalytic work, speaking for the baby also serves as a therapeutic method, helping parents tune into their infant’s inner world. Since its launch in 2018, the campaign has been embraced by clinicians and parents worldwide. Its resources encourage parents to explore and wonder about their baby’s internal experiences.

The event will be held online for maximum accessibility.

The purpose of our conference is to bring together professionals from various fields who care for infants and their families.
