Using a series of illustrations, the ‘Speaking for the Baby’ Campaign brings voice to pre-verbal infant experience. Inspired by the psychoanalytic work of Selma Fraiberg, speaking for the baby is also a therapeutic tool to help orient parents’ minds to the internal world of their infant. Since its launch in 2018, the ‘Speaking’ campaign has been well received by clinicians and parents, and has been translated into Dutch. Bronwyn will share the theoretical underpinnings to these illustrations and explore how they might be used to help parents curiously wonder about the internal experience of their baby.
