Justine Adler

Justine is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of practice, with expertise in perinatal mental health.  In addition to a long-standing private practice in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, she has worked at Karitane Parenting Centre and St John of God Private Hospital. She is also a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator and group facilitator. In addition to her clinical work, Justine has been instrumental in developing and supervising a workplace development program for a not-for-profit organization in the perinatal mental health field. She has also regularly runrelevant seminars and trainings.

Justine is passionate about perinatal mental health, being aware of the importance of addressing mental health concerns during this critical period. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on a wide range of psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapies, and EMDR. She also has a particular interest in somatic therapy, currently undertaking training in Hakomi Therapy. She always works within an attachment framework and is trauma informed.

Justine is a board-approved supervisor with a wealth of experience supporting clinicians across various disciplines, including psychiatric registrars, psychologists, social workers, child and family health nurses and mental health nurses, both qualified and in training.

With a collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based approach, Justine tailors her supervision to meet the unique needs of each practitioner, consistent with her integrative theoretical orientation.

Justine’s supportive supervision provides a safe and containing space to reflect, learn, and identify opportunities for clinical and personal growth for both early career or more experienced therapists. She is focused on preventing burnout and ensuring high standards of practice. Justine offers in-person and virtual supervision; either as a regular individual or group supervision, or ad hoc if required.
