Amiee is a late identified AuDHDer Perinatal Psychologist who has hyper focused on the intersection of neurodiversity and the perinatal period since self-identifying in October 2022. Since that time, Amiee has engaged in extensive training, reading, audiobooks and podcasts with lived experience advocates and trainers with a passionate drive to support neurodivergent families in the perinatal period. The combination of lived experience as an unidentified AuDHD Mother of 2 (now primary aged) AuDHD children, clinical therapeutic experience, and theoretical knowledge, as well as prioritising reflective practice, ensures that Amiee continues to develop as a Perinatal Clinician. It certainly helps that she works in her SPINS (special interests) and has a lifelong love of learning.
Amiee has found herself in the training and supervision space by chance over the past 12 months, particularly as she is one of the first Australia AuDHD Psychologists with a special interest and hyper focus in perinatal and infant mental health. Amiee is delighted to offer ad hoc or regular supervision for perinatal and infant mental health providers across disciplines, who are keen to develop their understanding, knowledge and skills to support their neurodivergent clients and their families. Amiee’s clinical approach is focused on a perinatal psychological framework as developed by Dr Bronwyn Leigh (the Nested Model), The Square Model as developed by Divergent Futures, and an overarching trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, lens. Amiee draws on mindfulness and compassion focused therapies as well as EMDR Therapy in her clinical practice.
Please note that Amiee is not a Board Approved Supervisor and is not offering supervision for registration purposes.
